Barcelona not interested in signing Neymar any longer, but...
Barca and PSG transfer latest
Barcelona are interested in signing PSG’s star forward… but it’s not Neymar!
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona will turn their attentions to signing Neymar’s colleague Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2020.
The Spanish champions spent much of the summer trying to lure Neymar back to the Nou Camp but a deal could not be concluded.
Now, Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona are plotting a move for Mbappe, 20, who they believe represents a better option with more potential.
Lionel
Messi injury doubt
Lionel Messi is unlikely to feature
against Borussia Dortmund next week.
The Argentine star is still side-lined
with a calf complaint that he suffered during pre-season training.
And Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde
says he’s a doubt for Tuesday’s Champions League encounter.
"I am not a doctor but it seems
that the scar was opened a little and that made us more cautious. In terms of
him being able to return, I don't know if it will be Tuesday or maybe
later," he said. "I don't want to say anything to lower expectations,
but I find it difficult for Tuesday."
Neymar’s
return
Neymar is fit and ready to return to
action this weekend.
PSG play Strasbourg on Saturday and
manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the Brazilian will be involved.
"Neymar's return is well-timed
given fellow forwards Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani will both miss the game
due to injury," Tuchel told reporters.
"Yes, clearly yes, of course, now
everything is clear, we know our group, I'm very happy, we have a lot of
talent, we have Neymar in our group, we have nothing else in our head, Ney too,
and he can focus on us.”
